What guides our practice? Evidence-based practices in psychology (EBPP) integrate the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture, and preferences. Our goal is to employ evidence-based interventions while maximizing our client's choice among effective alternative interventions. We aim to make clinical decisions in collaboration with our client, based on the best clinically relevant evidence, and in consideration of the probable costs, benefits, and available resources and options.
Therapeutic orientation involves theories, approaches, and modalities that are the basic guiding principles organizing how a therapist will treat and interact with you. It is important that a therapist has a therapeutic orientation which supports their practices; however, one approach or theory does not fit for all people. Depending on your needs and goals, different approaches can be helpful and healing. Although our staff may have foundations in particular therapeutic orientation models, overall, we have a holistic, positive, and integrative approach. We believe people are competent, resourceful, and capable of change. We focus on individual strengths as well as helping with problem resolution and opportunities for growth.
